Hyderabad: A minor fire broke out at the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Medchal branch, in the early hours of Sunday. No casualties were reported in the incident.
According to the officials, the fire started at around 5 am in the bank’s computer room. On being alerted, fire tenders from the nearby fire station along with the Medchal police rushed to the spot. After battling for an hour, the fire was extinguished. Computers, routers, passbook printers, currency counting machine and furniture inside the bank were destroyed in the fire mishap. Officials suspect short circuit to be a reason behind the fire breaking out. A complaint was lodged by the bank officials with the Medchal police who were investigating.
