Fake educational certificates racket busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Sultan Bazar police on Thursday busted a fake educational certificates racket and arrested four persons in this connection. Fake certificates of various colleges and universities across the country were recovered from the accused, the police said.

The arrested were identified as S Srinvas from IMCE Educational Consultancy at Eluru, West Godavari and B Venkata Rama Krishna, a medical practitioner from West Godavari, Sainath, a government employee and Raghu Raj.

According to the police, in July, Y Lalitha Kumari, Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, Telangana, lodged a complaint stating that Sainath had submitted fake and fabricated certificate of graduation purported to be issued by Vinayaka Mission University, Director of Distance Education, Salem, Tamil Nadu, in relation to employment, as he was appointed on compensatory grounds.

During investigation, the police nabbed Sainath, a government employee from Ramanthapur and Raghu Raj from Boduppal, who runs a training institution at Nallakunta.

Based on Raghu Raj’s confession, fake certificates of various colleges and universities were recovered from Srinivas.

“It was revealed that Srinivas used to make fake certificates with the help of computer and color printer at his office in Eluru. He was previously involved in a similar case booked under the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police station limits,” the police said.
