Bhadrachalam (Kothagudem): Elaborate arrangements were being made for Mukkoti Ekadasi celebrations at Sri Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple at Bhadrachalam in the district.
The celebrations would begin on Friday. The main events of the festival Teppothsavam and Uttara Dwara Darshanam will take place on January 5 and 6, informed the temple Executive Officer (EO) G Narasimhulu and the chief priest A Vijay Raghavan.
The EO said the arrangements include erecting pandals, barricades, sanitation, drinking water, installing CCTV cameras for the convenience of the devotees. The tickets for Uttara Dwara Darshanam could be bought from the temple website, he added. Meanwhile, the temple authorities and excise officials were taking steps to close down liquor shops at Bhadrachalam and Dummugudem on Jan 5 and 6 marking Mukkoti celebrations at Bhadradri temple in the district.
Measures such as barricading at river Godavari, monitoring of water level for the purpose of floating Hamsavahanam for conducting Teppotsavam were being made. Officials were preparing to conduct trial run of Hamsavahanam to ensure the boat was safe.
Temple to be closed on Thursday
The Sita Rama Chandra Swamy Devastanam authorities informed that the temple would remain closed till after noon of December 26 (Thursday) on account of solar eclipse. Devotees would be allowed to have darshanam only after the 3 pm on the day.
