Nalgonda: The Telangana State Forest Development Corporation Chairman Banda Narender Reddy on Friday criticised the opposition parties for trying to create hurdles to the irrigation projects by approaching the courts.
Speaking at a media conference in the district TRS Office here, Narender Reddy said that the leaders of the TDP, Congress and Left parties have been trying to provoke the farmers against land acquisition for their political interests.
They were working against the development of the State by creating hurdles to the execution of the irrigation project, he said. He cited the hue and cry of the opposition parties on the land acquisition for Mallanna Sagar project as an example. He pointed out that leaders from the district have a crucial role in the mess created against land acquisition for the projects.
He said that the leaders of the opposition parties should desist from creating hurdles to the development and irrigation projects as the State government was extending best relief and rehabilitation package to displaced persons. He felt that highest compensation and best rehabilitation was being offered to the farmers, whose lands to be acquired for irrigation projects, under GO No 123.
He said that the people would teach a lesson to the opposition parties in 2019 elections for their deeds, which were opposing the irrigation projects and against the interests of the people particularly farmers. The TRS district official spokesperson Chinna Butchaiah, and others were also present.
