DGP Mahender Reddy stresses on coordination among cops


Kumram Bheem Asifabad: DGP M Mahender Reddy stressed the need to have coordination between police of the district and police of Maharashtra for the successful and peaceful conduct of forthcoming elections.

He inaugurated a model police station in Asifabad before convening a high-level meeting with district police authorities here on Thursday.

Speaking to presspersons, Reddy said steps were being taken to avoid untoward incidents and to help voters exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner during the elections, despite geographical challenges of the district as Maharashtra shares north and east boundaries with the district.

The DGP asked officials to take measures to keep track of movement of Maoists in Telangana. He said modern technology was being used to detect crimes in bordering villages and in areas around Pranahita river, which flows between the two States. He added that police force would be arranged and budgetary allocations would be made, as per instructions of Election Commission.
