Bayyaram police producing CPI (ML) New Democracy dalam leader Surnapaka Bhadraiah alias Rambabu on in Mahabubabad on Saturday.

Mahabubabad: The Bayyaram police arrested CPI (ML) New Democracy dalam leader Surnapaka Bhadraiah alias Rambabu, 37, on Friday after raiding his house at Koyagudem village of Bayyaram mandal in the district. Two other Naxalite leaders, Kurusm Vajjaiah alias Ashok and Singaraboina Ramu alias Ramanna, have escaped from the house during the raid, according to police.

Presenting Rambabu before media at Bayyaram police station on Saturday, Mahabubabad SP N Koti Reddy said that Bhadraiah along with his wife Radha alias Radhakka joined the Jagganna dalam of the CPI (ML) ND party about 10 years ago and eventually became Bayyaram dalam leader.

“He was involved in several extortion cases. And he was also accused on several other offences,” said the SP.

The police also seized five live rounds of SLR weapon from his possession. Bhadraiah’s wife, Radha alias Radhakka surrendered before police two year ago. Meanwhile SP Koti Reddy appreciated police who nabbed the Naxalite leader.
