Karimnagar: Police conducted a cordon and search in Hussainpura, Priyadarshini colony and Krishnanagar colony localities on Monday morning. A total of 150 police led by Commissioner of Police, VB Kamalasan Reddy conducted search in each and every house. 20 two wheeler vehicles, autorikshaw and illicit liquor prepared by using spirit were seized.
Interacting with the residents, the Commissioner of Police advised people to have valid documents in possession while selling or buying vehicles. Otherwise, they could land themselves in trouble in case of an accident involving the vehicle.
He asked the people be careful about new persons renting houses, as there was a possibility of anti-social elements to take shelter in the colonies. House owners should not let out their homes for rent to unknown persons just because they offer higher rents. They should verify the original ID proof certificates and keep photostat copies of those taking houses on rent.
People should also desist moving on roads after 11 pm in the night. Stating that they received complaints from some localities that youths were teasing women by camping in localities, he asked the people to come forward to set up closed circuit television cameras. It becomes easier to each and every movement in the locality if cameras were installed.
The CP informed that during festival season and religious days, they were organizing ward wise peace committee meetings to maintain communal harmony. ACP J Rama Rao, CI Sadanandam, Shashidhar Reddy, K Hariprasad and other police officers participated in the search operation.
