Hyderabad: A team from the City Security Wing of the Hyderabad police and the East Zone police will be conducting a ‘Security Audit’ of the Osmania University Ladies Hostel shortly and submit a report to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and the university authorities.
The security audit will take into consideration the security requirement to ensure the ladies hostel remains a safer place for woman boarders.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar who took up the incident seriously has asked his subordinates to visit the place and study the security aspects and requirements. Several hundred women studying in various educational institutions affiliated to the Osmania University stay in the ladies hostel located within the vast campus.
Already, the local police had informed the university authorities about the need for more closed circuit cameras in the rear side of the building. The authorities were also asked to repair the breach in the compound wall of the hostel, clear the wild vegetation and install more lights around the bushy areas.
Anjani Kumar asked the police to arrange more cameras in the premises immediately. “Special teams have been formed to nab the intruder who had sneaked in and snatched away a phone. The offender will be nabbed,” he said.
