Mahabubnagar: District Collector S Venkat Rao appealed to the citizens to be cautious in the wake of increasing Covid cases in the State and across the country and directed the officials to conduct at least 100 tests a day in every primary health care centre limits.
He urged citizens to use masks and to sanitise their hands frequently. Once in a week, all municipalities and gram panchayats should conduct extensive awareness programmes as was done during lockdown, he directed to the officials here on Monday.
The District Collector directed the officials to conduct survey in all the areas and identify people with symptoms. All the ANMs, ASHA workers, Anganwadi teachers, CPDOs should be participate in the survey, he instructed.
“During the next one week, RBSK teams should conduct tests for students in the schools, besides conducting awareness programmes for them,” said Venkat Rao.
To ensure people wear masks and follow covid guidelines, one task force team should be constituted for every mandal, besides setting up three teams in the three municipalities in the district, he said.
He urged all those aged above 45 years with comorbidities to get corona vaccine administered and directed the Medical College Director Putta Srinivas to send medical college students to villages as a means to create awareness among villages on covid guidelines and the need to follow them.
The district administration will be convening a special meeting with senior officials from different departments on Tuesday to review the situation.
