For the staff of the University of Hyderabad and student volunteers of Wild Lens, it was time to own up responsibility to ensure cleanliness in the campus.
With the motto ‘Our Campus – Our Responsibility’, the university sanitation staff and Wild Lens conducted a clean-up drive of old nursery in the campus. The teams split into groups and picked up the litter and trash, and put them in bags to dispose them off.
A similar initiative with the motto had the team taking up a drive to clean lakes, apart from School of Life Sciences clean-up drive.
Wild Lens team founder Dr Ravi Jillapalli thanked the Registrar P Sardar Singh, Deputy Registrar, A Srinivasa Rao, Section Officer B Mallesh, Shankar Naik and their staff for making the initiative a success. The students who participated in the event included Karthik Jirra, Raghu Ghanapuram and Gowtham Bandi.
Established in 2012, Wild Lens is voluntary team of students working for biodiversity conservation in the campus. Apart from plantations, their activities includes clean-up drives, anti-poaching drives and wildlife rescue.
