Lately, teenagers have been found engaging in a new internet challenge called the ‘deodorant challenge’. In the videos, which the youngsters have been uploading, they are seen spraying deodorant on their hands.
The challenge is to see for how long s/he can take the deodorant sting and check the endurance level.
The danger of the challenge was brought to light when a mother of a 10-year-old daughter took it up on her Facebook account to spread awareness.
“For any parents who have children, please, please sit them down and show them these pictures…..These are the damaging results of something known as ‘The Deodorant Challenge’ which is currently doing the rounds in Yate and literally involves spraying deodorant on to someone else for as long as possible…..It’s that simple and results in severe secondary burns (sic),” wrote Jamie Prescott, the concerned mother. In her post, she also mentioned that her daughter might require a skin graft.
Looking at the casualty caused, it’s a message for all the youngsters out there not to partake in such Internet trends for whatever reasons you might want to try.
