Beautician’s suicide: Police to seek custody of suspects

Beautician Sirisha

Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police will be seeking custody of Rajeev Kumar and Sravan Kumar, the suspects in beautician Sirisha’s case. Police say their custody would help extract more details of the case. The duo is now under judicial remand at the Chanchalguda Prison.

Sravan and Rajeev, who were arrested on last Friday, were produced before the Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court at Nampally on Saturday. The court remanded them for 14 days.

The police said they had solved the mystery and arrested the suspects in a short time. They were immediately produced before the court. The remand report was submitted with the details in hand. By taking them into custody again, more details of the suspects and information of the case will be revealed, they said.

“We will file a petition before the court seeking their custody. More information in regard to the case will be obtained during their custody. For now, they are remanded. Their custody will be sought after remand.” Said K Srinivas, Banjara Hills Inspector.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a recording of phone conversation between Sirisha and Rajeev’s friend Naveen was played on various vernacular news channels. With doubts raising over Naveen’s role in the suicide case, cops say it was just a usual conversation.

“Sirisha spoke to Naveen about Tejaswini, who was allegedly threatening her due to her proximity with Rajeev. It was just a usual conversation. Naveen is not related to the case,” the police said.
