Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for their initiative in supplying oxygen to Covid-19 patients in Telangana through IAF aircraft.
For the first time in the country, the aircraft with empty oxygen tankers were flown to Bhubaneswar in Odisha from the Begumpet airport. With this, Telangana will be getting 14.5 metric tonnes of oxygen from Odisha, he said in a statement here.
Expressing happiness over the Prime Minister’s initiative in helping Telangana to immediately get oxygen, Sanjay said eight empty oxygen tankers left for Odisha from the Begumpet airport.
The Prime Minister was taking various preventive steps to control the rising number of Covid cases in the second wave. At the same time, Modi was also striving to extend necessary assistance in getting proper treatment to the patients, Sanjay said.
The Prime Minister has already requested the oxygen companies to supply oxygen to hospitals for giving treatment to patients. An action plan was also prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Defence, Civil Aviation and Railways to supply oxygen to all States, he said.
Sanjay said Modi was working round-the-clock to supply medicines and vaccines to all the States, and alleged that the State government, was unnecessarily indulging in mud-slinging against the Central government.
