Asaduddin Owaisi slams Amit Shah

Hyderabad: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi slammed Shah’s statement that the Centre had given Rs 2 lakh crore to Telangana. “Is it charity that the BJP government has given? It is the right of the Telangana government to get not just Rs 2 lakh crore but Rs 10 lakh crore. Are we not paying taxes?” he asked.

Interacting with presspersons here on Tuesday, Owaisi said he couldn’t understand Shah’s statement that his government has given so much to Telangana. “Is someone giving the money out of his pocket?” he asked.

Owaisi wanted to know whether the Centre had any policy on Kashmir at all. The PDP and BJP governments have miserably failed to check militancy. After the Pathankot incident, 16 Army camps were attacked. There was no sign of normalcy in Kashmir and the piecemeal measures being taken by government wouldn’t help, he said.

To a question, he said the Army would only control militancy and not end it. It was the duty of the civil administration, he said, adding that the BJP government was thoroughly exposed and in order to hide its failure it kept talking of nationalism. With regard to UP, the Majlis leader said the RSS and the BJP were not in favour of inclusive growth. They do not want to render social justice to the minorities, he added.
