AP minister dares Chandrababu to resign

Tadepalli: AP Irrigation minister Anil Kumar Yadav on Monday challenged Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu to resign along with his 22 MLAs and seek fresh elections on the Amaravati capital issue.

Talking to media persons here, he clarified that the government aimed at uniform development of all regions and the people supported the decision to have three capitals. “But Chandrababu Naidu is faulting the decision. Let him resign with all his MLAs and seek re-election on that score,” he said.

Yadav said that the government was committed to the development of Amaravati which would continue as Legislative capital along with two other capitals. Already four regional development boards were set up by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy for the purpose, he pointed out.

“Chandrababu did not make such fuss even when the state was bifurcated. Now he is afraid his benamis would be put to loss if Amaravati is not made the sole capital. He built a house in Hyderabad and not Amaravati. He is staying in Hyderabad for the past five months. It requires one lakh crore rupees to build capital in Amaravati. From where do we get such money?” he asked.

The minister also recalled that Jagan had told the Assembly in the past that the capital should come up only on government land and the people supported it.
