AP govt to seek CBI probe into corruption during Chandrababu regime


Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government will seek the CBI to investigate into corruption involved in various projects during the Chandrababu Naidu regime.

A decision to this effect was taken at the State Cabinet meeting held here on Thursday after a Cabinet sub-committee which studied the irregularities involved during the previous Telugu Desam Party government submitted its report recommending a thorough probe by the CBI. It has in particular, referred to the Fiber grid scam involved in the Rs.1,000 crore tenders, Chandranna Kanuka, purchase of Heritage ghee, and Ramzan Tofa.

It was also decided to conduct the Assembly session from June 16, give the green signal to Ramayampeta port, set up Tribal engineering college in Kurupam, and give administrative sanction to establish a
10,000 MW solar power plant.

By another decision, it approved sanction of 385 acres to establish Greyhouds training centre in Jagannadhapuram village of Anandapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam district.
