AP contract workers threaten to stop power supply

Visakhapatnam: The contract workers of the Electricity organisations in the State who began an indefinite strike on Tuesday to press for their demands, threatened to stop power supply on Wednesday if their demands are not conceded.

The power contract workers’ united forum leader RKSV Kumar who led a demonstration in front of the Gandhi statue near GVMC office here on the day, said about 23,000 contract workers in APTransco, APGenco and discoms would not tolerate any further delay in the matter as they had been agitating for their just demands like equal pay for equal work, for the past six months.
