3 held, Rs 1.91 cr old currency seized in Andhra Pradesh


Visakhapatnam: City Task Force police on Monday held a three-member gang and seized from its possession old currency amounting to Rs 1.91 crore in old Rs 100 and Rs 500 denominations.

Informing this to reporters here, Joint Commissioner of Police Dadi Nagendra Kumar said Geddam Kalyan Kumar and Gudla Venkata Ramana of Burma Camp had worked together for changing old currency on commission basis in the past. They had struk a deal with some persons to change

Rs.1.92 crore old currency for a commission of Rs.25 lakh. The CTD which learnt this, raided the apartment where the gang operated from and arrested Kalyan, Ramana and Naveen of Madhavadhara.
