2 ganja peddlers caught in Nalgonda district


Nalgonda: The police arrested two men, wanted for ganja peddling, on Monday and seized 15 g of the contraband from them.

According to the Miryalaguda Town-II Police, both are from Hyderabad — Mohammed Abdul Khani (29) from Golkonda and Shaik Noor Ahamed (27) from Towli Chowk. Police personnel caught them from the local bus station, Miryalaguda Circle Inspector B Sai Eshwar Goud said.

The duo said they purchased the ganja from a dealer at Dulpet in Hyderabad. The police booked and arrested them under the NDPS Act, Goud said. The officer asked parents to keep a close eye on school and college children, and make sure they do not get addicted to drugs. He also appealed to the people to inform the police about such persons. Identity of informers will be protected, he assured.
